Written Sense Brand's submission guidelines

Written Sense Brand's writing feed is published biweekly on Fridays at 4pm EST. That means, your accepted work appears on the feed for 2 weeks and is then archived. The Written Sense Brand's monthly release is made available by PDF to subscribers only and contains 4 week's worth of poetry and prose feed content.

By submitting, you agree and accept your work will appear on the public domain for a period of 2 weeks and thereafter within a PDF made available to subscribers. 

When submitting lengthier pieces, please keep in mind the overall length and layout of both the feed and monthly release. At this time, we are still determining the number of pieces that will appear on the feed. 

Written Sense Brand is a place to submit poems, prose, or free-form writing (whatever you consider writing, really). This means your polished works or mind-dump, unedited journal entries alike are fair game. Our editing team doesn't judge, or edit. Your words are powerful as they're written by you. We only ask you keep kindness and sensitivity of certain genres topics in mind, and remain aware your work is shared publicly.

We only accept submissions via email sent to submit@writtensensebrand.com. Your subject must read "New Submission_<submission type: Prose, Poetry, Journal Entry, Other>_Last Name_Date of Submission" for your submission to be considered. You may submit Adobe PDP, Microsoft Word, or Google Doc files. Your name must be included in the header and/or footer of every page of work submitted. If you would like your submission to be anonymous if accepted on the feed, please indicate so in the header/footer. On a separate page within your submission, please include a 25-word bio written in the third person to be included with your work.

Please be aware of a 2 to 4 week lead time needed for submissions. That means, work will not be considered for feature on the feed less than 2 weeks in advance of the feed update schedule. We will inform you of your submission's acceptance/rejection no later than 2 weeks in advance of the feed update schedule.

You may submit under multiple submission categories at a time, though they must be submitted in separate emails. Your work may be accepted in some or all of the categories, either for the next feed update or for a feed update in the future. If your work is accepted, you will be shared the feed date of posting.

We will consider poems of any style and almost any length for publication. You may submit up to 6 poems in a single submission. Poems must be single spaced and can be written in any grammar/punctuation/style/layout as a reflection of your voice; we will do our best to lay out your poem on the feed exactly as submitted. Each new poem should have its own page. 

We will consider prose of any style and almost any length for publication. You may submit up to 2 pieces in a single submission. Prose must be single spaced, and each new piece should have its own page. 

At this time, we are not accepting submissions of artwork of any kind.

Our editing team exists to review and approve your work for website publishing. It does not exist to edit your work based on any biases or predispositions. We don't judge.
